THE NITTY GRITTY

Beta Vulgaris (Beetroot) Powder
We use this for colouring our bars. Beetroot gets it’s beautiful colouring from betalains, which are strong antioxidants.This is in our Itchy Dog Bar.
Bicarbonate of Soda
Yup - just like in your kitchen! Baking soda is derived from sodium carbonate, which comes from sodium chloride and carbon dioxide. We use it as a pH adjuster to make sure our PH is perfect for pooches. 
Cetyl Alcohol
Cetyl alcohol is derived from coconut, rice bran or sugarcane. Despite it's name it's actually an emollient (softens/
hydrates) and thickener, so it conditions as well as helping your bar stay solid.  
Citral
Citral is a natural component of essential oils. We don't add this in, it's naturally present in some essential oils.



Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil
Organic
Coconut oil is derived from coconut flesh. It's super nourishing for hair and skin, without being heavy or overly greasy. It is antibacterial, anti inflammatory and antifungal - so great for all kinds of skin complaints




Decyl Glucoside
DG derived from coconut and sugar. It is a surfactant and makes oil and water mix together helping to trap and lift away dirt. DG is especially suited for products targeted towards dogs as it's very gentle. Completely biodegradable.




Lavandula Augustifolia (lavender) Oil
Lavender essential oil is derived from Lavender flowers. Lavender is soothing, and has long been used to aid a wide variety of skin complaints due to it's anti bacterial and anti inflammatory properties. This is in our Itchy Dog Bar.



Limonene
Limonene is a natural component of essential oils. We don't add this in, it's naturally present in some essential oils.



Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Oil
Tea tree essential oil is derived from tea tree leaves and has powerful anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties. This is in our Dirty Dog Bar.



Melia Azadirachta (Neem) Seed Oil Organic
Neem oil is derived from the nuts and seeds of the neem tree and has powerful anti-fungal and anti-inflammatory properties. It has been used in Ayurvedic medicine for centuries to help soothe and treat a wide variety of skin disorders. This is in our Itchy Dog Bar.



Mentha piperita (Peppermint) oil
Peppermint essential oil is derived from peppermint leaves. We use it for its refreshing minty fragrance. This is in our Dirty Dog Bar.



 Oatmeal (Ground)
We use ground oatmeal for its skin healing properties. This is in our Sensitive Dog Bar.



Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate
SCI comes from coconut oil, so it's palm free. It is a surfactant and makes oil and water mix together helping to trap and lift away dirt. SCI is biodegradable, an alternative to sulfates and very gentle on skin and hair.



Spinach Powder
We use fresh spinach that we then dry and powder to give our Dirty Dog bar it's green colour.


Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Butter Organic
Cocoa butter is derived from Cocoa beans. It's both an emollient (softening/hydrating ingredient) and thickener. It's also a fantastic moisturiser and conditioner.
